About Meenakshi Amman Temple
The Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple is a historic Hindu temple located on the southern bank of the Vaigai River in Madurai. It is dedicated to Thirukamakottam Udaya Aaludaiya Nachiyar (Meenakshi) and her consort Sundareswarar.
One of the most prominent Shakti Peethas and the cultural epicenter of the ancient Pandya kingdom.
